A Colorado Native with a Maker’s Heart
Born and raised in Northglenn, Colorado, this maker has always loved working with her hands. From gardening to crafting and creating, there has always been something deeply fulfilling about turning ideas into finished pieces—especially when those creations are shared as gifts with others.
In the 1980s, life led her to Federal Heights, where she and her husband raised their daughter and built a family together. In 2013, they became grandparents, a role they cherish deeply, now enjoying the joy of three beautiful grandchildren. As their nest grew quieter, it was lovingly filled by their Maltese dogs, who brought companionship and comfort.
A major turning point came in 2018, when her husband of more than 30 years entered hospice care. Seeking closeness to family, she made the decision to relocate to eastern Colorado, settling in Arriba in 2019 near her sister and extended family. In October 2022, she completed the move with her two small dogs, Penny and Sammy. After the loss of her husband in July 2023—ending 40 years of marriage—she found strength, healing, and gratitude in the support of her family and the kindness of the small-town community she now calls home.
Encouraged by her sister, she began attending local craft fairs, discovering not only a creative outlet but a renewed sense of purpose. While her small business is just getting started, each customer and each sale means the world to her. Knowing that her handcrafted pieces are out in the world—bringing joy to others—is a reward in itself.
Her creations reflect a wide range of skills, including crocheting and knitting, braiding and macramé, beading and jewelry making, and sewing. She especially enjoys creating handmade pet toys and accessories, blending her love of animals with her passion for crafting. Outside of her creative work, she finds inspiration in gardening, caring for houseplants, cooking, and exploring new ideas through shopping and design.
With a maker’s heart and a hopeful spirit, she looks forward to sharing new and exciting creations in the year ahead.
